Once Birbal was going somewhere, on
the way a person stopped him and asked:
“Sir, do you know where is the house
of minister Birbal? Please tell me if you know”
The person had some work with Birbal
but he had not seen him.
Birbal showed him the path to his
house and proceeded further.
The person identified Birbal’s house
and enquired the servent whether Birbal is in his house.
“No sir, He has gone somewhere. He
will come only in the evening” the servent replied. The person waited for
Birbal till evening.Birbal came in the evening.
The person who waited for him identified
Birbal. He was none other than the person who showed the path to the house, the
person saluted him and said:
“Sir, I met your kindself on the
way. But why didn’t you tell that you are Birbal?”
“You see, You asked me to show the
house of Birbal. I showed you the way. If you would have asked there and then
about Birbal, I would have told you that i am Birbal. You didn’t ask. I
answered to the point.”
The person got finished his work
with him and left.
Birbal was very clever in answering
the question.
